Yet Another Phone and Internet Outage

Telephone, Internet, and cable service went out here at a few minutes past 8:00 p.m. April 2, 2009. These information connections were still out at midnight. When I checked at 1:10 a.m., connections had been restored.

There is quite a great deal of flooding in Minnesota now: including the massive flood in the Red River Valley of the North. (Yesterday's update: "April 2, 2009
Red River Valley of the North Flood, 2009: April 2: News Added As I find It
" (April 2, 2009))

The webcam seems to be operating properly, and I sincerely hope that there will be nor more interruptions.

Hi small town in America. I'm blogging from the uk, asking for help.

Due to a glitch in amazon.uk’s system, I believe I’ve written the only crime thriller in the UK that doesn’t appear on amazon.co.uk. My publisher’s many other titles are listed, and my book can be ordered from all other uk online suppliers, as well as amazon sites around the world, from Japan to New Zealand, but Amazon.uk refuse to acknowledge their technical error. They insist my book is displayed on their website. It isn’t.

I’m an insignificant individual, powerless to influence this huge corporation, but their indifference has incensed me. I’m attempting to battle amazon.uk’s virtual monopoly of the uk online book market by asking readers in the USA to order my inexpensive paperback through other online suppliers like amazon.com

If you would be kind enough to consider supporting my campaign against a faceless corporation, please check out my blog for details of Cut Short by Leigh Russell

Leigh Russell,

Yeah.

Right.

Generally, I don't go in for the paranoiac 'poor little me against big bad business' thing - but on the off chance that you have a point, I'm leaving this comment stand.

However, I'll add some wisdom passed down from my father:

Never ascribe to malice what can be explained by stupidity.
