Picture's back.
12:17 a.m. - maybe as early as 12:15 a.m. - today, We lost our internet connection here. Phone service, too. Cable feed for the TV worked fine.
Same as last time.
Frustrating. I'm hoping that this has to do with this being Minnesota. My area's under a flood watch, there was snow falling a few minutes ago, it'll probably be back in a few minutes, and parts of the Red River Valley of the north, northwest of here, are underwater: more so than usual in this season.
An outage like this happened in December, 2008. If I got to bed at a decent hour, I wouldn't notice these breaks in service.
Maybe there's a lifesytle lesson here.
Sauk Centre, Minnesota: near the corner of Ash Street and South 9th.

Friday the 13th, and a Restart Glitch: Pure Coincidence, of Course
My computer ran a Windows update last night, which included a restart: Which explains the nighttime display from sunrise to just a few minutes ago (it's 9:05 a.m. here).
That's a fairly routine situation - although it doesn't happen often enough for me to feel like changing settings. Besides, I'd rather have updates be done promptly - even if it means losing a few hours of webcam time. The webcam is attached to my 'main' computer - the one I use for all my other work - so it's critical that it stay in good working order.
This morning, I found my computer was stuck on part of the restart process. Restarting the restart process ended with it being stuck at the same point.
This is a new wrinkle.
Shutting the thing down completely and re-starting ended with a normal re-boot, so things are okay for the present.

Webcam Back Online
Apparently, the webcam decided it was time to take a break a few days ago. It's back on the job now, though. And will, I hope stay that way.
Days Since the Last Update
March 5, 2009, had a nice morning, but the webcam should have updated since then.
Sorry about that! I'm correcting the situation now.
Trying to, anyway.
Good grief: I must have been more inattentive than I thought!

A Whole Month and No Posts: Good News, in a Way
More than a month, and no posts. In a way, that's good, since I tend to post when there's some sort of technical trouble. Which may be coming. I've been getting sporadic warnings that my webcam can't access the Internet. All that's happened so far is that some of the once-a-minute updates didn't happen, but I'm keeping an eye on it.
I still haven't done a 'what you're looking at' diagram. Haven't forgotten it, so much as been distracted.
Pity, the St. Patrick's Day decorations across the street aren't large enough to show here.
